What I like best about Gonzalez is that he doesn't seem to get rattled. He gave up a HR but just takes the ball and goes after the next hitter. And he attacks the zone and doesn't nibble. His style kind of reminds me of a former Twins pitcher Brad Radke, who had a pretty good career.

He throws strikes, which is nice, but he doesn't have great stuff. I think it is only a matter of time before the book is out on him! But I enjoy watching someone throw strikes for a change!

He hit 94 a few times and his changeup looked pretty good. Thought he had good movement on what I think is a slide. Just because he wasn't a top draft pick or a BA top 50 doesn't mean he will eventually flame out. Atleast Im hoping he doesn't :).

He has that swing and miss pitch that he can throw in the dirt though. And that is something that better pitchers have done worse without.

Stuff vs location?, chicken or the egg?, big endian vs little endian?---some of life's major mysteries. I see all these great young arms that aren't doing it. Here is a major argument for location and I think Gonzalez will continue to do well.

Hey, Josh Towers was great for that one season. I'd love that sorta consistency right now.

Me too. So was Jose Mercedes. But I don't understand the comp with Towers in real terms. I get the impression that the org. in general, and BS in particular, have a higher opinion of him than they would have of Towers. Different type of pitcher.
