Yeah-that is the first team I looked at-with Texas, Angels and an improved Seattle, ouch. Houston ownership is worst in baseball.

The Marlins say hello....

As for the over/under I will be in Vegas on 3/31 and would look forward to slapping money down...unfortunately last year turned me superstitious for the first time in my life since last year was the first time i did not bet on the O's on my yearly Vegas trip and they miraculously made the playoffs.

So for when they are playing again in October again this year....you are welcome :)

Hard to argue with you there, but at least he spent money at some point, not saying much though. That guy is nuts. My buddy interned for him (his father is a scout/he was for a bit). The guy paid him to watch his Ferrari by grabbing a chair and sitting by it all day. Funny stuff.

Vegas whiffed hard on about half of MLB last year. They don't know anything more than us.

BTW, I don't really care they have us at 76 wins. If we are healthy we will beat that easily. If we aren't, we won't. Simple as that. The August/September Orioles were a legitimate 90 win team.

I would probably bet the over too. I just think its interesting Vegas's perception is so much lower than Baltimore's is of this team. There are a lot of stat head numbers people in Vegas. The stat heads/Sabermetrics people are expecting regression from the Orioles.

If a lot of people bet the over and a lot of money comes in on the over and Baltimore has a good season, Vegas will lose money. Interesting that Vegas likes teams like Cleveland and KC more than the Orioles who don't have large betting populations. The stat heads like Tampa because of their pitching (probably best in AL).

You seem to have a lot of opinions on this place and the posters for someone with 4 posts? Do we know you? Something tells me you are more than a lurker, especially with the aggressive way you came into this community.

Look at his name. He's just someone trying to get attention.

I am not a betting man, but I would take the over on this one. This team didn't just do kinda well last year. It didn't compete. It played consistently excellent baseball and beat all the best teams, many times. And it's young and returning most of the guys who did it. I think we have a well disciplined, motivated, relaxed and - yes - talented young team. Like someone else said, I hope Buck posts all this in the clubhouse - and then plays last year's playoff clincher in Texas to remind them of how great they are.

I lost 25 cents to a classmate betting that the Baltimore Colts would beat the New York Jets in the 1969 Super Bowl. That was the last time that I bet on a sports event involving a team I root for. I never want to bet against my team, and if I lose a bet in favor of my team, it just makes things that much worse. I HATED paying that kid the 25 cents almost as much as I hated watching the Colts lose the game.

So, hypothetically, I'd easily take the over on 76.5, but I'd never actually put money on either side of that proposition.
