I think they are banking on Yoooooon, agreed RZNJ and Weams. I just would like some insurance other than Gausman.

Jason Gurka. Eddie Gamboa, Mike Wright, Brad Brach, Alfredo Aceves, Ryan Webb, Steve Johnson, Bud Norris, Levin deLa Cruz...

Cruz's career numbers at OPACY in 81ab's .333/.368/.481/.849 2hr 9rbi

Morales' career numbers at OPACY in 50ab's .413/.460/.717/1.177 3hr 13rbi

Small sample size, and both are solid, but Kendrys has made a playground out of Oriole Park so far...

Kendrys is not the man he used to be...

The 3-year park factors for hitters in Texas is 104, and in Baltimore 106.

Interesting. We all know OPACY is hitter friendly, but I did not realize that recently it has been more hitter friendly than Texas. Still, I can't think of a hitter on our team who has hit 180 points higher at home than on the road over his career. Maybe that's a function of the fact that the other AL West ballparks are more pitcher friendly than the other AL East ballparks.

Cruz at AL East ballparks:

@BAL .849

@BOS 1.163

@NYY .698 (new stadium)

@TBR .497

@TOR .763

Morales:

@BAL 1.177

@BOS .674

@NYY .681

@TBR .529

@TOR .641

All sample sizes are pretty small, so hard to really draw conclusions.

I am totally on board with you there.

I am okay, given up the one draft pick, but the 2nd, ouch.

But, the window of opportunity is now, baby!

It is a #55 pick, whatever. We already lost our #17, that's the one that really hurt. You are worried about a 55?

we didn't lose #17, they make a business decision to go after a veteran SP.

Yes, worried about a 55, you still have to keep adding young people to the minor league system.

We did: international free agents. We trade depth perhaps we pick up a compensation pick.

For what it's worth, the 15-19 picks in the draft have produced 149 major leaguers who have amassed 1,286 rWAR. The 53-57 picks in the draft have produced 100 major leaguers who have amassed 717 rWAR. So, roughly speaking, our 2nd round pick is about 55-67% as valuable as our 1st round pick.
