How is Teagarden doing these days.

They don't have the arm. Remember Buck has a thing about suppressing stolen bases.

As well he should. I think the Orioles want to stronger defender to back up Wieters. Wieters' elbow problem may be recurring, I can believe that they have this in mind and are looking for help behind the plate.

Will Matt catch again in 2014 ?

Trade Hunter for back up catcher and solve two problems with one move.

I can't really blame Clevenger or Joseph, who has a very decent 34% caught stealing percentage in the minors. All of Houston's stolen bases were the result of an inattentive pitcher (Hunter last night), or a slow , predictable delivery to the plate (Gonzalez tonight). And if Clevenger hadn't momentarily bobbled the ball on one, the runner would have been out at third.

When Rosenthal says they are looking for a backup catcher, does that mean they are looking for a backup to Wieters or to Clevenger? If Wieters can't catch for an extended period, Clevenger is the catcher and an adequate backup for him would be required.
