The federal investigation that brought about those arrests have ?revealed previously unnamed MLB players,? ESPN.com?s T.J. Quinn reports on Twitter, which could well lead to another round of suspensions. (Quinn, whose Twitter timeline has quite a bit of additional coverage, says to ?expect more suspensions.?) It can only be hoped that we will not see a repeat of last year?s seemingly endless saga. Nevertheless, the potential impact on baseball?s transactional side remains a realistic consideration.

From the USA Today article:

If I'm close friend of Alex Rodriguez, or, ahem, a business associate, I'm scared.

Please, no Manny. That would be devastating.

“He’s my favorite player, and will always be my favorite player, He loves the game, loves it to death. I hope he comes back and does great. It’s unfortunate everything that has happened, but he’s a great mentor for me, and always gives me encouragement.

“No matter what happens to him, he will always be my friend.

“There’s a lot of people in the baseball world rooting for him, and a lot people like me want to see the old A-Rod come back and be the best.”

Am I missing something about Manny? Are people only concerned because of his admiration for A-Rod? His power numbers don't suggest anything and he is pretty slim. Furthermore, seems like a stand up kid, ignoring that whole Athletics situation which he acknowledged and appears to have been working his way back from.

I don't think it's unfair to be worried that any good friend of A-Rod could be roiding.
