The bar is being set pretty high right out of the box isn't it? I don't know, but I'm fairly confident it's now out of our price range.

I personally do not think that Dan ever intended to make an offer to Andrew. But that's just me.

That was what cost Flanagan his job I think.

The relievers he acquired didn't perform. If you are going to invest a lot of money in relievers, they had better do their job. Baez was Gregg with a bum elbow, Walker gave us one decent year out of three, and Bradford was solid but we traded him for salary relief halfway through his contract.

It's hard to pay a lot for a Roogy. And that was Bradford by the time we got him. Walker waez was worse than Gregg.

It didn't help that the manager couldn't get any length out of his starters and was a bit quick warming up the pen. Guys were burned out by June.

I agree with this thought. Miller is a tremendous talent but I can't imagine Duquette wanting to get tied up in an expensive bullpen. Barring any trades they've already got limited flexibility with Britton, O'Day, Hunter and Brach all being out of options. Maybe Webb too, I'm not sure. I think the bullpen is a place for the FO to get creative and big contracts don't fit that bill.
