Ok, that's a little better than YardBirds. Rome wasn't built in a day and the O's won't be able to reshape an entire organization in one offseason. However, our MiL pitching is now some of the best in baseball. That alone is a huge upgrade over the last 10 years...certainly not worthy of bagheads, IMO.

YardBirds...how about if we end up trading Roberts for bigbird's rumored 4 Cubs? Will that be enough to remove the bag?

Assuming that that deal means a couple of the waste guys are gone from the roster, than yup, the bag is off, and Markakis goes up.

This is quite possibly the biggest day for the O's since PA came on the scene and started throwing money around. After 10 years of no direction or pattern, it seems clear that PA has finally given his GM full reign over the baseball operations. Beyond the talent coming back, the simple fact that AM has actually been given full control of the club to me is the biggest news of the day. 2-8-08, the day O's fans saw light at the end of the tunnel.

All of this cheering and whooping it up reminds me of the scene in Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith when Palpatine changes the Senate into the "First Galactic Empire" and Padme says something to the effect of..."So this is how democracy ends...with the sound of applause."

I am happy for this deal (and the Tejada one, AND the proposed upcoming Roberts one, IF we get Pie) but it just strikes me as "weird" how we cheer the loss of our favorites from the past few years.
