Way to go, getaway day offense. Mail it in. That's right; one-two-three, one-two-three, one-two-three, one-two-three, and off you go on a plane back to Baltimore.

Geesh, if I could fail so hard at my job and still get paid, I'd be in heaven.

I don't have access to the game, so I'm following on Game Day.

I understand that they're in a hurry to get home, but can't somebody get a hit and then let himself be picked off? That wouldn't take long.

Gausman has thrown 5 shutout innings, 7 innings total, and given up only 3 runs. It's a textbook quality start plus an extra zero. A playoff-bound team finds a way to win this game. A third- or fourth-place team that is content with 82-80 at the end of the season will find a way to lose this game.

This. Bottom line is the Orioles should have won AT LEAST one of their last 3 losses. Three winnable games (blown 2 run lead in the 6th, two extra inning games) that they needed to find a way to win but couldn't. This year their comebacks fall short and they don't win the close games. They seem to fall behind often in games in the middle innings by a few runs but thanks to DOD, Brach, and Britton they are able to close out games when they have a lead in the late innings.
