one thought i will put out that i am not sure was mentioned in long thread.

It's impossible for the Cubs contract to be drawn up overnight.

We need to photoshop a "player shaming" (like the "pet saming" meme) picture with a frumpy-looking Dexter Fowler holding a sign that says "I told Orioles players that I was excited to join the team. Then I signed with a different team entirely and denied that I'd ever come to an agreement to play for the Orioles."

My take on Dexter Fowler is that he MAY be appreciated a lot more come September when the Orioles have filled on of the corner outfield spots with a player that can be under team control for an extended period of time for a whole lot less money and actually have "Upside" going forward.

By him not signing here, the Orioles can fill from within and see what we actually have. This I appreciate.
