Brian Gonzalez, LHP

Looks like we have four pitchers in Delmarva to get at least a little excited about:

Gonzalez, Peralta, Alvarado, and Cleavenger. All have age on their side and have performed well. I would like to see Cleavenger get promoted, since he's a bit old for the level at 22 and has been dominating in a relief role.

Let's not forget about the good work Ryan Meisenger, 22 years old, is doing down there as well. 21 IP, 12 H, 8 walks, 35 strikeouts. Gonzalez is really having a nice season. He looks to be getting better too. Last 5 starts. 30 IP, 20 hits, 6 walks, 30 strikeouts. 6 complete innings, 5 starts in a row.

Oh wow did not realize that. It's easy to lose track of the guys that aren't starting, but multi IP relievers almost get as many innings as starters in the minors.

I assume there will be some promotions in the near future. Would Meisenger or Cleavenger be given chances in the rotation?

If you listen to 105.7 today at 5Pm you just might hear me talk about some of these guys, especially Gonzalez.

Did this happen? Whatever became of the video blog you were going to do? I'm itching to hear more about some of the pitchers who have had some success early this season.

I fumbled at the goal line. :(

I was going to transcribe, got preoccupied, and it was almost 5:30 PM by the time that I remembered.

15 out of the 18 outs that Gonzalez recorded came vis the ground ball and the strikeout.

Walked 3 batters in one inning.

Outside of that inning, he threw only 52 pitches to get 15 outs in the other 5.
