How did he give up no runs this past outing and have is ERA rise from 2.47 to 2.74?

He had an outing in between, in which he gave up 6 runs in 5.67 innings against the Lakewood BlueClaws.

I don't necessarily record each and every outing without fail.

Are we past the point of promotions? Doesn't seem like any of the promoted Starting Pitchers have had success at the higher levels.

I could go either way with Gonzalez. On the one hand, he has pitched consistently well this year and he is repeating Delmarva, so perhaps it's time to move him up. On the other hand, while he is pitching well, he isn't dominating to the extent that a promotion is demanded, and he's still plenty young (20). The O's may feel he's better off just completing a successful year in the Sally league and then moving up to higher competition next season. Either way, he'll be at Frederick next April.

0 earned runs over 4 innings pitched.

6 free passes (5 walks and a hit batsman) in only 4 innings pitched ...... and even though Gonzalez was walking everybody in the world, Augusta still stole 6 bases in only 4 innings against him. :eektf:

Had to record 13 outs to complete 4 innings, due to a runner reaching safely on a dropped 3rd strike.

What a sloppy-looking game. The box score says Gonzalez allowed no earned runs, but you certainly can't say he pitched well. I'd like to know whether the stolen bases were his fault or Murphy's. Coming into today, Gonzalez had allowed 15 SB in 17 starts, and 8 had been caught stealing.

Gonzalez combined with Mike Burke (3 innings) to pitch a shutout against Regular-A West Virginia.

He does seem to still be having control issues, as he gave out 3 free passes (2 walks and a hit batsman) in 6 innings, and had a mediocre strikes-to-balls ratio (47 Strikes, 33 Balls.)
