Let Brach pitch more innings

wildcard

While articles have been written about Brad Brach's success this year, they point out that he has three plus pitches that have led to his 1.05 ERA.

There have been some discussion that with his repertoire he could start. But then the discussion leads to the facts that he hasn't started since college, he is 30 and he is not stretched out to make the jump to starting.

However Brach did pitch 79 innings last year. And he is on a pace to pitch 92 innings this year. If the 30 inning rule is used then there is probably a way for him to pitch 110 innings this year. Not as a starter but by expanding his role as a reliever.

I would love to see Brach pitch more if his health will allow it. Why wouldn't we want more innings out of a guy with a 1.05 ERA? Maybe some on those innings are in the playoffs.

Interesting theory.

Maybe, his 1.05 rises, when the hitters get their 2nd time looking at his stuff?
