Does Veteran Wade Miley Provide Stability To Orioles' Rotation?

Nice write up.

One thing, and I read it elsewhere, but don't remember where.

Next year's FA class of SA is extremely weak. DD got a jumpstart on 2017, picking up a guy under team control.

Why would any team want control of Wade Miley

The Red Sox dumped him, the Mariners dumped him

He is expensive and below league average

30 million dollars for Ubaldo, Gallardo, and Miley

Could have signed an ACE for that king of dough

Miley is league average, not below league average.

30 million gets you David Price, and he hasn't shown, he is worth that, this year.

He got into a confrontation with his Red Soc manager, actually here in Baltimore and that help his ticket out of Boston.

Really? For a one year deal? Like a David Price Ace? Or a James Shields Ace? Or a Shelby Miller Ace? Or Yordano Ventura Ace? Or a Garrett Richards Ace?

Be honest or truthful sometime.

Our defense hasn't done him any favors. I remember the interview with him on 105.7 and they asked him how excited he was to be playing with such a good defense behind him. He's wondering where the heck that is.

He's a guy that we should put out our best defense for when he starts. We're playing with a short bench and the offense has been struggling so Buck hasn't had the option to do that yet. I'd like to see us try that in September.

Miley wasn't as bad as his stats read last night. He induced a lot of ground balls, particularly in the ill-fated 5th .... they just happened to find the holes in the infield. It happens

He's an inning-eater (as mentioned) and will give the O's, usually, enough innings to stay competitive in games.

He's no David Price ... but neither is David Price ;)
