Should Buck consider moving Tillman up a day and start him against Boston for game 4? Since we have been using a 6 man rotation, would we be better off with Tillman going in game 4 against the Sox and drop Jiminez down a slot to pitch game 1 against Arizona?

Yes. We simply cannot run Miley or Gallardo out there again. We're this close to making it. It seems like a forfeit sending either to the mound.

Not really. First, Boston's lineup is much better than TB's.

Second, if you lose a game to Boston, you automatically lose ground. If you lose to TB, there is a chance Boston loses to NY and we hold ground.

This is what I'd do, and depending on how things look that final weekend against NY, you can either move Gausman up a spot on 3 days rest (no Miley/Gallardo/bullpen game) if the game is crucial, or pull him from the Sunday start and give him the WCG if there is nothing to play for on Sunday.

I think that when you look at the pitch counts the "good" starters have been ringing up that they are not about to short any of them on their rest.

O'Day being out and the general shakiness of the pen (aside from Britton) has caused Buck to extend his starters past what they are used to.
