The way the game is played today it would have been considered malpractice to bring him back out there with having thrown 120 pitches. But the reality and the shame for Moore and the Giants is if this game would have been played 30 years ago Matt Moore finishes the game and the Giants are on a plane to Chicago. Jim Kaat has to be shaking his head. He was commenting last night about the obsession and insanity of pitch counting in the modern game.

Or Moore could've run out of gas and blown it in the ninth. It's not hard to believe a pitcher with 120+ pitches might become less effective the more you push him. I'd take the fresh arm every time.
