Tim Kurkjian has the Orioles at #1. ll B|

After Mark Teixeira failed to include the Orioles in his top-5, Kurkjian jumped in and said .......

"This is not the one that I came up with, this is not the one that I sent in. I have the Orioles at # 1, and I have the Rockies at #5. With the Rockies pitching a little bit better in addition to their perennially good offense, I think it's time to start thinking about the Rockies and the Diamondbacks as potential contenders now ...... and I'm not sure that I thought that 3 weeks ago."

Kurkjian appeared to be politely telling Teixeira that he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. ;)

Power rankings are the cheapest way to drive traffic (other than Skip and/or Steven A yelling at each other) because for some reason people care about subjective power rankings in a sport that has actual standings.

These two teams play in the same division.

The Reds (17-14) are one full  game ahead of the Cubs (16-15.)

This is likely the largest discrepancy between one team that has a better overall record than another team in an MLB power ranking of any kind ...... and I'm sure that the Reds are grateful that this is not Division I-A college footballlll  :grouphug:

It's just silly. I don't know how our offense compared to the Yankees will shake out over the course of a whole season, but they've been other worldly hot while we've been just OK. And that's used in the comparison, that we score almost 1.5 runs less per game. Yes, that's true, for now!

Just dumb.
