MLB.com keeps saying the Indians thinks the O's want too much for Britton.  What do they think will are supposed to trade him for 3rd tier prospects?  How come the Yankees get a boat load of prospects when they traded A.Miller, but the O's can't get what they want for the best reliever in the game.  It really p...s me off.

Do they Indians even have "too much" to trade for Britton?  I like the Astros 2nd and 3rd tier guys rather than their 1st tier options.

Well my guess is we won't go off Mejia in a deal with them.  There is a huge drop off after him then another big drop off after Tristen.  They don't really make much sense to me and they already have a shutdown pen.

kinsler and verlander, great players having down years, getting no real action now. possible after deadline, or winter for them.

Verlander seems like an ideal post-deadline guy.  He should pass through waivers with that huge contract.  Pitched well yesterday, so maybe a few more good starts improves the market.

That was my favorite game last year.  They had just traded for Lucroy and Bundy had a no hitter going through 6 and out dueled Darvish.

What they gave up to get them in Brinson and Ortiz and what they get back for them one year later is night and day.

Well if DD is asking for too much is what I meant in another post when when I was hoping he wouldn't be overplaying his hand. Time will tell I guess.

buy high sell low - I thought that's how trading is supposed to work?

Seems like it's been quiet with them today and us.  But the Hellickson trade shows that none of the national guys have a clue of what we're going to do.  They are just making stabs like the rest of us.

To be fair, that has to be the weirdest trade of the year.

They are too busy signing Jumbo Diaz to a Minor league contrat.

    • I have two tickets to Game 1 of the WC which I cannot use due to work travel.  Section 352, row 4, seats 9 & 10.  Asking $70 total for the two.  Paid $205 to the Orioles as a season plan member.   PM me if interested.  Paypal preferred.
    • Can't make game 1. I'll be at game 2...last time I was at a playoff game at Camden, we beat Scherzer and the Tigers.
    • He should be taking fly balls all winter.
    • That was a lot of fun. Felt like there are certain elite seasons that had to be part of the team, and then tried to build from there.  Outfield depth is a little shaky, as is the rotation — though the latter is probably mostly unavoidable. The lineup would rake and the bullpen would shove, so pretty happy with this combination.   C 2022 Adley Rutschman (5.4 rWAR) 1B: 1998 Rafael Palmeiro (6.3) 2B: 2005 Brian Roberts (7.3) 3B: 2015 Manny Machado (7.5) SS: 2024 Gunnar Henderson (8.9) LF: 1999 Brady Anderson (5.9) CF: 2021 Cedric Mullins (5.9) RF: 2008 Nick Markakis (7.4) DH: 2013 Chris Davis (7.1) Bench: 2003 Melvin Mora (4.7) Bench: 2006 Miguel Tejada (4.5) Bench: 2011 Matt Wieters (5.2) Bench: 2001 Jeff Conine (2.9)   SP: 2000 Mike Mussina (5.7) SP: 2007 Erik Bedard (5.7) SP: 2019 John Means (4.4) SP: 2002 Rodrigo Lopez (3.7) SP: 2010 Jeremy Guthrie (4.5) RP: 2016 Zach Britton (4.1) RP: 2023 Felix Bautista (3.0) RP: 2004 B.J. • Gray started off well  but then ran out of steam a bit. He's not getting any younger. I was interested in him last year but I think the Cardinals overpaid and his contract only gets worse.
    • A bit. Nothing life changing, but the format seems…Cleaner.
