Pretty questionable move by the Yankee front office. I think we'll see Mattingly be let go in Miami and Girardi will end up there.

The media is saying it was a neutral decision.  I wonder if Girardi was just ready to get out of the media frenzy there.

After a decade managing in NY maybe he wants to sit in a TV studio for a year or two and relax a bit?

Depends on who GM is for one. Everyone said his dream job is the Cubs. Maddon should be there awhile.

They were a total mess at that time plus many speculated he was waiting to see if Torre would leave.

I'm not a big Buck fan but the O's need to fire Dan before doing anything about the manager.

I'm not a huge fan of Girardi's managing style, but he ended up doing a pretty good job for the Yankees.  I'm looking forward to hearing the backstory on this one.

It was not mutual. The Yankees decided for him.
