2018 Dylan Bundy

One of the more disheartening performances of the year.  As a reminder, Bundy's ERA by month from last year:

March/April - 1.65

May - 3.92

June - 5.93

July - 8.41

August - 2.00

Sept/Oct - 7.53

 

Not going to be too down on him after a few tough starts, but we can't have him going through extended periods of pitching poorly which seems to be a pattern early in his career.

88-90 mph fastball aint going to cut it against the better hitting teams

I'm wondering if Bundy is tipping his pitches. Angels appeared to have a real good idea what was coming before Dylan threw the ball.

It's easier to see an 89 MPH fastball than a 95 MPH fastball.

He averaged 91.4, so let’s not exaggerate.    

In the brief part I saw, Bundy’s slider was not as sharp as usual.

I didn't watch the game so I was just going off of what others were saying.

I don't generally watch the 10 PM start times.

He's a #3 starter. 

If he doesn't have "A" command of his fastball, he's going to have a tough time.  Put it together over the course of a season and he'll get you the high 3, low 4 era range.

In past years, I’d watch the start and tell myself I’d only watch 2-3 innings, and end up watching the whole game.   This year, I’ve turned the games off after a few innings.

The way the orioles outfield is they could use Angels in the Outfield. Mancini runs like a cartoon character . Feet are moving but not going anywhere. Also since the injury ,he has K'd an awful lot. 9 in last seven. 17 in last fifteen.

Also easier to sit on off-speed. He threw a good curve ball to Justin Upton that was absolutely crushed.

I didn’t look up at the scoreboard after every pitch but the stadium gun last night had him at 88-92 from what I saw. Mostly 90-91. That’s gotta be a concern.
