If you toss out Akin's first start of the year (0.2 IP, 6 ER), which was played under terrible weather conditions, his ERA since then is 2.81.     He had one other really awful start (3 IP, 7 ER) and if you discard that one, you're down to 2.04.     Of course, to some extent you can play that game with any pitcher, but in Akin's case he's allowed 13 of his 29 ER on the year in two bad outings, and he's been very good in most of his other appearances.   

I remember a few people pointing this out when we were all impressed by Sedlock's early success. We've been hitting home runs with our 1a-3rd rd picks recently.

Unless anyone is actually there, they are reading that way. But there is a decent amount of wind moving around, so fly balls could carry out in Frederick.
