Maybe he is now, but when he was a top 5 prospect in all of baseball he was projected as a #1.

Well, that's nice.  I guess.

He's just very fragile, IMO.  And true to a #2 or #3, they turn in #1 like starts every so often when their stuff is 100% on.  But they also have disasters like this one, too.

He sat in the upper 90s back then with a hammer curveball. Now it’s 4-5 mph less at best and a loopy get me over curve. Fortunately the 88-91 mph cutter morphed into his near double plus slider that he has now.

He has to be hurt.  Came out in the second inning throwing 88 mph.  Earlier this year he would occasionally flash 93-94 mph.  Tonight he started at 91 and it dropped quickly.  I am not a pitching coach but it appears he has very little arm speed or explosion at release point.  It appears he is throwing at like 80% effort, very strange.
