I think that only works on the level of established players with choices.  I think when you are new to the MLB and affiliates, all money spends well.

Ladies are reputed to love sluggers like Trumbo, CD and KD.  But then, the old Oriole Way is centered on defense also.

Someone I talk with and knows people has been hearing all along that Miami has this wrapped. I'm not so sure.

Gausman is his own mulligan. HE was not going to be with the club when they were good again. And he was sold at his Orioles peak.

 The Mesas are planning on hosting a showcase for all 30 teams in the near future, Sanchez further reports. He lists the Orioles ($6.5MM), Marlins ($4.3MM), Rays ($3.6MM) and Dodgers ($2.78MM) as the teams with the most remaining money to spend.

If he wanted great Cuban food and to hang out with fellow Cubans, he could stay in Cuba. He's coming to America for $$$$$$$$$. The vast majority of free agent baseball players sign the biggest contract they can get. I can only remember a handful of players who didn't do this.

This is all about money. Miami is less of a factor because it’s not like they are major league ready. VVM would likely start out in A ball anyway. That’s 1-2 years away from the majors that’s not in Miami. 

I say package deal them. Offer them our max. Get it done.
