I know this is not one of the top rating system but it is interesting anyway

Compared to Orioles.com it drops Harvey and Grenier out of the top 10 and adds Kremer and Akin.

It's pretty ridiculous if after trading Manny, Schoop, Britton and Gausman they can't even end up in the top half of farm systems.

Except for Gausman, they waited entirely too long to trade these guys.

I don't know enough about the other 29 systems to say.

I know they aren't a top 5 or bottom 5 system.  I strongly suspect they are not a top 10 system.

Jim Callis agrees with BR.  He said in August after the traded that he hadn't done the analysis yet but  his gut feeling was the O's system was between 15-20.     He also said they should have gotten a top prospect for Gausman.   Maybe the ranking goes up if they sign VVM.

They waited waaay too long to start the rebuild.  They got killed in the Gausman trade.  They need to sign V2 more than words can describe, even if just to show there is a new direction.

The Marlins traded Stanton, Yellich and Ozuna and Dee Gordon and are still ranked 27th best far.  All those guys were younger with years of control and they got little to anything show.  At least we traded our guys with little control past this year for guys in our top 10.

It was 100% about the money for the Marlins. New owners are always in great debt.

i guess no one realizes that  other than Manny, we really did not have much of real value. The trades positioned the Orioles to save money to stay in business.

I think that Gausman had more value than was realized.
