Well when they made the trade, there was reason to think he would be. That said, i do think they were looking more long term with the move. To me, that is the criticism with this trade but we also don't have enough info to really know if a more right now move was available for those guys. We didn't see only older prospects like that dealt for rentals or anything else like that. -

I still believe that 2025 and 2026 were bigger considerations for Elias in pulling the trigger on the Rogers deal than 2024. -

This is most likely Santander's only shot at a big payday and somebody is almost certainly going to offer it to him. There's zero reason for him to give anyone a discount. -

Eloy was a lotto ticket/dart throw. Also, an insurance policy with all of our LHH. At least at DH. He was essentially our “September Callup” extra position player. I like Norby, but what if we thought/acknowledged that he was never going to play IF here for us and that his value as an OF was something that we could fill with guys like Slater? So in essence, we maximized his value. Had it not been for the that trade, Norby would’ve finished the year in AAA, and we’d be talking about him possibly experimenting with COF for next year. Then what if that fails, another year in AAA for him? His value in ST would’ve been that much lower. -
