but is your very very bad, really very very good, or truly very very bad? :) :) :) :) :)

I was thinking of his getting picked off and some errors in the field--so "bad" meant bad. Didn't need it to mean "good" because had already said that was a very, very good (which didn't mean bad).

Sorry, just being silly.

I remember looking a really cool looking classic car many years ago and said out loud, dang, thats a really bad car.

My mother said, I thought you would like that car.

I had to try to explain that bad was really good.

She was confused, and said, so what do you say when something is really bad?

Mothers, you just have to love them. :)

Haha, I think you misinterpreted my reply as being annoyed. I was laughing along with you. Thus, the last line, maybe too dry.

My mom always tried to appreciate anything I liked, including baseball. So when I finally found some "bad" things she couldn't stomach, I thought at the time it was a mark of progress, even growing independence. But these days I pretty much regret those puerile mini-rebellions. I wish I had found and been satisfied with a good "the Good" we could have shared, rather than a bunch of "bad" goods, which in the end were neither good nor bad, but just distractions.

They also had this graph:

Most Good Fielding Plays Per 100 Innings by Shortstop

Player Good Plays
Per 100
Misplays
Per 100
Carlos Correa 3.9 1.4*
Richie Martin 3.1 4.1
Jonathan Villar 2.9 5.5
Trevor Story 2.9 2.6
Andrelton Simmons 2.8 2.7
*lowest rate among shortstops
Minimum 500 innings

I can sure believe Villar’s 5.5, but I’m surprised and disappointed at Martin’s score.

Mothers? I’m a guy and I’m never quite sure what someone means when they say,”that’s the bomb.” Or many another comment that could go both ways.
