I'd always go for it.  Wouldn't even have a placekicker on the roster.

If we get to 10 or 11 runs here, I'd actually be in favor of just sending Davis up there for a bit. Let him face at least 3 batters and see how many outs he can get. Save Akin for a rainy day. Davis might even do better than him, given he has plenty of prior ML pitching experience. Struck out Alex Gonzalez at Fenway Park in extras.

I can't tell you how nice it is to actually be able to watch the O's on TV tonight and not rely on Gameday updates.  This has been a rare treat over the last 3 or 4 years.

Facing the big 3 of Nats this weekend. With the 4 inning game tomorrow,  Hess needs to eat up these 2 innings.
