Maybe, you know, what they were working on in the off-site before they called him up actually helped him out.

Nah, had to be manipulating the service time clock.  Nothing else.  Ain't that right, @Can_of_corn?

Yep, I'm converted, if they had brought him up even a week earlier he wouldn't have any of those walks.  He clearly had an epiphany at Bowie and I'm expecting at least 100 walks from him next season.

He's slugging .556.  As those doubles become homers that'll be more like .600 or .700.  He might have 100 intentional walks.

Hey, isn't that Major League Baseball's Ryan Mountcastle?  Why yes it is!  "Hi, guys, Ryan Mountcastle here.  If you click HERE I'll let you in on this one weird trick that'll take you from Jonathan Schoop's plate discipline to Mickey Mantle's in under six weeks!  Guaranteed or your money back!"

Effect not tested by the FDA to treat any illness or condition. For recreational purposes only.  Not for use in California or Oregon.  May cause excessive itching and swelling of the third toe of the left foot.

Mickey Mantle's plate discipline was helped by copious amounts of alcohol.  Is that what you're referring to?

Didn't say he all of a sudden had awesome plate discipline.  But maybe he's improved since last summer?  No?  C'mon, Drungo, be positive.

I haven’t been able to see much of the last few games.

How has he looked in the OF?  Had many chances?

Most of the chances I’ve seen were easy fly balls hit right near him. However unlike Smith he didn’t immediately take 5 steps back then sprint to get under the ball at the end.

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
