No, you posted on August 11 and the O’s were 8-7 before that night’s game, August 10 having been an off day.    There was one mistake in your post.    You said the O’s were playing 21 games in the next 21 days, but in fact they had one off-day (last Monday, Aug. 24).    So, when you posted really there were only 20 games before the trade deadline.

You think this offense is anywhere from the best in baseball to the top 10?  When you see the talent on the offense and compare it to the other teams, that’s your belief?

No one in the AL is scoring more than 5.35 runs/game, so the projection is basically that the Orioles have the best offense in the league.

Fangraphs' rest of the season projections have the O's scoring 4.49 runs/game, which is 13th in the AL, a few hundredths of a run per game ahead of the Tigers.

4.49 is basically the same as last year, so that makes some sense. Even if you think a handful of guys have improved, they lost their two best hitters from last year and the run scoring environment is worse. Projecting them at 5.5 per game just seems so far out there.

Ah, gotcha.   So counting their completion of that game among the 21, the O’s are 7-9, with 5 August games remaining.    Theoretically they could still go 12-9, if they won the next 5.    Needless to say, it’s not likely, and from your posts above I think you agree that at this point Elias probably isn’t waiting to find out.    He’ll sell if the right opportunity presents itself.
