Frobby
I thought it might be interesting to track the top 10 signings and whether they were over or under slot. 1. Henry Davis, Pirates: signed for $6.5 mm, $1.9 mm under slot. 2. Jack Leiter, Rangers: unsigned so far. Slot is $7.79 mm. 3. Jackson Jobe, Tigers: $6.9 mm, $321 k under slot. 4. Marcelo Mayer, Red Sox: $6.6 mm, equal to slot. 5. Colton Cowser, Orioles: $4.9 mm, $1.2 mm under slot. 6. Jordan Lawlar, Diamondbacks: unsigned so far. Slot is $5.74 mm. 7. Frank Mozzicato, Royals: $3.55 mm, $1.88 mm under slot. 8. Bennie Montgomery, Rockies: $5.0 mm, $177 k under slot. 9. Sam Bachman, Angels, $3.85 mm, $1.1 mm under slot. 10. Kumar Rocker, Mets: unsigned so far. Slot is $4.74 mm. So far only one player (Montgomery) picked below Cowser has received a higher bonus than him (including players signed below no. 10). We’ll see about Lawlar and Rocker, and maybe no. 11 Brady House. Nobody else is a candidate.

waroriole
If Leiter could go back to Vandy and be there for us next year, that would be great. I’m guessing he ends up pretty close to slot and is the highest paid from this draft.

On the other hand he ain't dropping to Boston in next year's draft.

Wish they would have taken Benny for practically the same money as Cowser. 1 hour ago, Can_of_corn said: I've read more recently that he had an issue with his physical and things were not finalized. That was my worry going into the draft. People on here were upset for not picking him of all the players that were available. He has a lot of high stress pitches logged on that arm and that worries me long term. My first thought is Ben McDonald

Tony-OH
Looks like MLB took out all the signing bonuses from their draft tracker. https://www.mlb.com/draft/tracker/2021/all/team/orioles

That is a huge advantage for the agents if they know exactly how much more money a team has to spend. "Oh I see you have an extra $700K in your pool, and my guy is your last unsigned pick. What are you planning on doing with those dollars by the way?"
