Yeah, he is who he is. He's not going to be successful against good AL East teams. He just doesn't have the stuff and the Rays have been hitting him hard all game. Haven't been a ton of cheapies. 

I just can't wait until we bring up actual prospects to be starting pitchers not minor league free agent signees. Watkins is a nice story, but let's face it, it's not going to work long term.

Why does the catcher have his glove open upwards on a ball that hits the dirt? Shouldn’t the glove be facing the ground so the ball bounces up into the glove?

Gameday said that double had been awaiting scorer's decision. Did McKenna miss a catchable ball? That wd be two poor plays by our "defensive specialists."

I don't care if he executed the pitch perfectly. Cruz hit it 900 feet which makes it a bad pitch. There's no "good try" awards in the major leagues. You either get guys out or you can't. The Rays are telling everyone that Watkins is not going to do it unless you are ok with giving up 5 or 6 runs over 6. Low bar I guess. 

That should be the Orioles motto. "Just trying to get over the lowest bar possible."

Would you rather have Lowther or Akin? Not being contentious, just wondering if you still think they have more upside?

Lowther is hurt and never looked right all year. Akin can't command the baseball consistently. I have no desire to see Akin start. I have zero issues with Watkins starting right now. He's eating innings for a team that is promoting bad AAA pitchers to try and eat innings. It's just more realization that Watkins is a nice little story, but one that will not end with a very long career at least if he has to pitch in the AL East.

Sorry joey, but Austin Wynns is not good enough offensively to be lazy behind the plate. Awful job trying to stop that ball. I won't even use the word block because he just lazily stabbed at the ball.
