You trade high instead of low, don't give up draft picks and maybe the O's never need a full rebuild. No doubt..but they were dumb and had the wrong manager and owner in place to do that. You could argue that if we keep Rodriguez and Davies our future looks a lot different. Keep Cruz, don't sign Davis, sign Manny and you start to have a team with a lot fewer holes to fill. Lots of ways they could have gone, both trading the core And keeping it. They chose to take the worst possible routes. It’s actually truly mind blowing that they could have been that dumb at the time.

Keeping Cruz sounds like going in a time machine and making the best choice possible. Letting Cruz walk was the right move. Now if they had just let Davis and Trumbo walk.... That’s clearly not what he was talking about and he also said that they will not draft BPA. I'd say the savings from Adley were significant to how the draft went.

We will never know what Elias would have done if Adley had insisted before the draft that he was only signing for slot or higher. So, no point in worrying about it. I’m glad we picked him and that he agreed to a 4% discount off slot that helped us sign some other players.

Btw, when I say I don’t care, I mean that I’m glad to see the progress but I’m tired of hearing about it at the same time. I want results. I don’t follow the Os, write about them, spend time on them, etc..to be giddy about how some publication likes our players who have done nothing at the ML level. The Os had a system ranked 21st in 2011 and 2012 and the team went on to have the most wins in the AL from 2012-2016. I love the potential but it needs to be more than that. You seem to care when you cry about the draft every year. lol
