What affect will winter ball have on Mateo chances to be the O's 2022 starting SS?

I agree with this.  Mateo’s potential to hit in front of Mullins whether it is 1,2 or 9,1 could really dial up Mullins’ run production.  I don’t think Mateo’s showing in the Dominican this winter will influence any decision toward that possibility except for showing he is healthy.

Other then hopefully seeing him play well because that would mean he's healthy, I don't think it will matter. Mateo will come into next season as either the everyday SS, 2B or super utility guy who plays just about everyday. I think the Orioles are going to give him every opportunity to show he can play everyday at the major league level.
