That means new parking structure also. This actually makes a lot of sense. Besides a few places like Sliders and Pickles, there are not a lot things to do around the stadiums before or after games. Obviously Ravens fans know how to tailgate so that's a little different than baseball fans that might be more apt to come down if there were a series of sports bars and entertainment establishments around the stadium. It’s not like OPACY needs hundreds of millions of dollars of renovations. Bill Veeck would have found a way to use some of it to sign free agents. Put $500 on Trey Mancini striking out. $1000 on a scoreless bottom of the 4th. Bet the grocery money on the Astros covering the spread. Combine that with bat giveaway day and we'll really have some fun. Don't forget the pneumatic tubes to whisk consumers Jetsons-style directly from their seats to the neighboring casino after the game (or during pitching changes).

If it takes 3.5 million just to move the LF wall back 30 feet I can only imagine the price tag for major renovations.
interloper
Good stuff! Improvements are good. The Orioles staying in Baltimore is good.
Sports Guy
ANd remember, this is also for M&T. It’s a big number but the money probably doesn’t go as far as we think it does.

Moose Milligan
They're going to make a fence that automatically reconfigures dimensions between at bats. It'll be 385 to the power alleys one minute, 355 the next. And it’s not like OPACY or Ravens stadium are in a state of disrepair either. What exactly are the proposed renovations that are going to run up the costs to $1.2B? You could almost build a shelter that connects the Ravens and O's playing fields with that kind of money. Maybe that's the area where the gambling would take place! What I think will happen if it's allowed is there will be some from of sports betting at both stadiums.

I have zero interest in gambling, but it does make me wonder.

Tablet at each seat that allows in game betting. New name: Horseshoe stadium at TikTok Yards.

They may not be happy but it is going to happen. It was fought for when the passed the law that all three sports stadiums in the state would be allowed to get a sports gambling license. I doubt they allow and kind of other gambling at the stadiums but a sportsbook of some kind will be at both Camden Yards and M&T.
