Yikes. He did play there 33 games with NYY. All his other MLB games have been at 2B, none at SS. 

Today Odor is starting 2B with Urias on bench. Looks like he has mostly gotten 2B reps.

Mateo is getting the bulk of SS reps while Urias is getting a mix of 2B, 3B, and SS. 

I really hope Urias plays every day in some capacity. There is no way we should be accommodating Odor's comfort level at the sacrifice of the development of any of the younger team controlled players.

No need for trades IMO.  DFA'd Odor and Bannon.  There are plenty of guys with options to get to 28.

Sure, I had forgotten about Bannon initially, but I agree he's at-risk. Barely played a lick this spring as a 40-man guy which doesn't bode well for him. 

Jones was a very quick option. He continues to look completely overmatched on both sides of the ball. Mateo has vaulted ahead of him in the depth chart, and guys like Vavra are breathing down his neck below him as well. 

My reasoning with Gillaspie is that he's kind of a project and the absence of the Rule 5 draft makes it easier to DFA him. But that's a total guess and I could see him being stickier.

Totally agree, and I think Urias will be a starter. Just hoping Odor was a break in case of emergency signing... If he makes the roster, it could be as a platoon thing at 2B, with Urias moving to SS and Mateo going to 3B or the bench.

I think Gillaspie is ticketed for AA.  But they like his arm and think  he will be claimed if DFA'd.

Certainly wouldn't be either of my first 2 DFA's. If Mattson on the 60-day is an option, I like that idea.

On this god awful broadcast today, Roch was just mentioning how this situation is different with Odor compared to Sanchez because of the money (which is nothing either way btw)

While I get it, it’s still a roster spot.  What has Odor done that he should make the team?  Because he has hit some homers?

Hes not a good player.  I don’t get how this should be some guarantee just because he’s getting the ML minimum.

Agreed.  There's no way Odor should be getting playing time over Urias for any reason.

He punched Jose Bautista, too.

But yeah, he's got some pop.  That's really gotta be it.  I mean, power is cheap these days but sheesh.  Odor doesn't really belong anywhere.  Urias has some talent and needs to play every day, he could be a solid piece for this club for the next 3-4 years.  Mateo has more upside than Odor, he needs to play each day.  With the current crop that we've got, I'd rather see if Gutierrez can still play that slick defense at third.  

Odor doesn't really have a spot here.  I don't understand it but whatever.

Still dont get how they say doing games remotely is because of safety precautions? Ben McDonald and Jim Palmer have to fly to do the games remotely from Baltimore and fly from  Louisiana and California.Probably eat  out at a restaurant also.

I don't think anyone thought he would be this bad. He can't make good contact at all.

I know Mateo can play the outfield.  But has he played it this spring?  If he did  I missed  it.

My Opinion:  Agree that McKenna has not hit but with the bigger LF I think he wins a spot for defense.

I have seen zip from Odor. I hope he is DFA'd before opening day.
