It's a one horse race!

I love your bubbly confidence, Belkast. If it's a one-horse race, why's it taken so long to reach the finish line?

I'm getting sick of my dad the Red Sox fan being supremely confident he's going to the Sox because they offer him the chance to win the World Series "now."

Without looking at the stats, I would assume Tex is just as consistent as A-Rod, with less power numbers, but also less strikeouts.

Just a quick look :

ARod's closest comps through age 32 :

Hank Aaron, Mel Ott, Jimmy Fox, Ken Griffy, Mickey Mantle

Teixeira's closest comps through age 28:

Carlos Delgado, Kent Hrbek, Fred McGriff, Jim Thome and Will Clark.

Not sure that Tex is in ARod's league, though, in fairness, not many are.

Wait a second!!! I thought that the O's were dropping out of the TEX sweepstakes. At least that's what Buster said in his quest to pimp for the Sawx, Yankees and Angels. I'm shocked.

All speculation. That's what this entire scenario has been about. They've been saying for two weeks that the Os would drop out by _______. They've based this on our reputation, and the Sox resources.

The media has confirmed that they know very little about what's really going on.

That's still pretty good company, I think.

Do those comps take defense into consideration?

It's a one horse race!

We got Warshington on the inside, Bomer right behind, they're neck and neck. Whoa nelly, on the outside is Bahston. Bahston overtakes Bomer, he zooms by Warshington. It's Bahston by 20 lenghts!

There's no chance that Baltimore and Washington are simply being used to run up the price for Boston; is there? :scratchchinhmm:

Honestly, I am not sure. Both players are in great company, but clearly, ARod is a notch above. Again, ARod is one of the all time greats, there is no shame paying Tex 20M a year or so, he's worth that. He's just not in ARod's group, IMO.
