I keep saying it but we better get a good MLB controllable SP if we trade any of Mullins/Hays/Santander in lieu of adding Phillips.

This better be a precursor to something because Brett Phillips actively makes this roster worse. We're about to have Odor, Phillips, and Chirinos in a lineup.

My thoughts exactly.  The whole point of trading Santander/Mancini is to get at bats for Diaz and Stowers.  Phillips is a fun clubhouse guy, sure, but where are his at bats coming from?  If we don't trade Santander, is he just taking McKenna's at bats?

At least it was only for cash considerations. There's gotta be a bigger deal coming, makes no sense to add Phillips.

Has to be a prequel to other moves.  Getting him and blocking guys like Diaz and Stowers is just awful decision making.

Has to be a move being made for depth purposes.

Rich DuBroff tweets that Phillips fills the 40.  But Stowers isn't on the 40, right?  Why not make the no-brainer move and cal him up?

We brought up Stowers earlier this year..he’s on the 40.

I'm not disagreeing if you trade a Hays/Mullins/Santander why not just play Stowers everyday and see what he can do.

You're going to be adding a player to the 40 man roster regardless, so why not promote an MLB ready prospect from the farm system.
