When you don’t score runs every little thing is magnified.  A blooper a grounder Mountcastle just couldn’t make then error by Varva and it all tied.

To be honest that inning could have been much worse. Tied we have 3 swings, they have 2.

The need for a real first baseman is so evident. 
 

We keep trying different guys at first base but you just can’t do that. Chris Davis for all his faults would have made both those plays. He’s our last real first baseman.

I think Ryan has been good this year. He should have had the one but the throws are awful.

The guys consistently praise his arm. He seems to make some pretty tough throws and even at odd arm angles.

Gunnar didn’t look great at 2B last night either…

Mountcastle has been our regular first baseman for two years now and made several excellent plays in this game including Vavra's second bouncer.
