It was likely only 4 runs given up because the A's are a bottom three offense in MLB. You're correct the offense has given Watkins zero help today.

If the Orioles weren't in serious consideration for the wildcard, I would be ok with starting Watkins the remainder of the season.

Glad I’m not watching this game. My Grandfather always said “save some Runs for the next game”. Orioles often follow big scoring efforts up with really poor ones.

We have had quite a few 3-1 counts and have not even took advantage of that with a bunch of pop up’s and soft grounders.
