That was a pathetic looking effort for Santander. Yikes.

It don't think it's effort, he's just real slow now. He probably should be playing DH with Stowers in RF, but Stowers is not a lot better speed wise and his jumps have not been very good so far early in his MLB career.

It's been a fun ride, but I do think we are seeing reality stepping up in the name of the Blue Jays, the team they are chasing. Time to start playing Stowers everyday and giving Vavra some PAs to see what they can do down the stretch.

And that's OK. The gap has been closed a lot this year, give Elias another year or two and we'll be there with them.

When did MLB change the rules so games are over after 3 innings?

Yeah, I don't think anyone should be upset, this has been a fun year, but time for Elias to have Hyde play the young guys as priority play from here on out.

These last few games have been painful, but in the long run I hope our finish to the season will show us were we need to improve and bring in outside talent to make a series run next year.

I hope the status quo, rely solely on prospects, trade productive vets like Mullins and Santander, and bring back the mediocre Lyles, will see that is not enough to beat the big boys in big games down the stretch.

When did decide you wanted to be a jerk to me tonight? About the 3rd inning?

I'm just saying it's obvious to anyone with a any baseball sense that the Blue Jays are a much better team than the Orioles. Look up and down their lineup and compare it to ours. Hell, even their 4-foot-2, 320 pound catcher has the same OPS as Rutschman.

Its ok, they were supposed to be better than us this year and they are. Is this game over, no. With the Orioles offense of late and short bullpen, are they likely to come back, no, not really.

After this game they will be 5 1/2 games back of the final wild card. Time to focus on the young guys.
