Just for the sake of clarity, while it would have been a bit of an ironic coincidence if Givens had replaced Nevin on the 40-man, Nevin was actually DFA'd when the Orioles traded for James McCann. Lewin Diaz has DFA'd and traded to Atlanta to make room for Givens.
