I suppose the only good news about this is that they would likely need a lease extension to enter into any agreement for the naming rights...

They are not going anywhere.

MLB would not allow it and they have a 600M bribe sitting there waiting for a signature.

My guess is they are negotiating the amount of oversight the MSA has on how the money is spent.

The Ravens upgrades may not all be paid with bonds Interest rates are higher and may need some bank financing

Snippet from a paywall article:

The Maryland Stadium Authority is seeking $200 million in possible bank financing to pay for $435 million in improvements to the stadium.

I hope it happens.

Haha, you're so weird about this.  No offense :)

Why do you hope it happens, other than to be a contrarian?  If I thought they'd take the money the spent and use it to improve the on-field product I wouldn't care, but I have no expectation that that will be the case.  It's just giving the stadium a lame name so the Angelos's can pocket more money.

First of all, Oriole Park at Camden Yards is and always has been a dumb name. They couldn’t decide whether to call it Oriole Park or Camden Yards, so they combined them.

I mean, at what point have you ever said to someone, I’m heading to Oriole Park at Camden Yards for the game tonight?

We call it Oriole Park or Camden Yards but not both at the same time.

And guess what, if it becomes Under Armour Park at Camden Yards, we will still call it Oriole Park or Camden Yards.

Nothing will change except the name on the stadium and that is barely noticed anyway.

So, make extra money. It’s a business and more revenue is a good thing.

    • Funny thing is, if the O's win, I'm generally so psyched on my way out that I don't even notice all of these annoyances. I'm just happy that the team won. That was my experience a lot this year when the team was doing well. Unfortunately about half of my 13 game season ticket plan was in August and September, plus I got to watch one of the pathetic WC games. You can smooth over a fair bit of fan annoyance with winning, but at the end of the day, someone has to care about the little things and actually invest money to make them better. There's no longer any question about whether the O's will be here to stay. The government and the team are aligned: OPACY and the Orioles are here, and we're going to make the best of what we have, and make it a centerpiece of Baltimore. That's great. But now they have to put their money where their mouths are. Show fans from all walks of life that we are able to reimagine OPACY and the surrounding area in the image of an efficient, clean, 21st century facility, starting with things as basic as infrastructure and plumbing, and ranging as far as parking, public trans, and food at the park. Honestly? I sort-of understood why they weren't investing in anything in the years when (1) the team was bad, and (2) ownership wasn't invested in the team, and (3) the renewal of the lease with the Maryland Stadium Authority was in doubt. The vast majority of points (1), (2) and (3) above are now non-issues, or have been majorly mitigated in the past 2 years. So it's time to make things right. Otherwise why bother with the long-term commitment at all, if you're just going to let the project languish?

    • I still think Soto (Juan, not any of the others) checks off all the boxes here.  Insanely productive, plays hard, can rub opponents the wrong way on the field but is generally liked off of it.

    • Things looking bleak for KC. They left 11 runners on base, got a taste of their own medicine, I guess.
