Okay but if you're saying the O's as currently constructed aren't good enough to get out of the first round, then adding a good-but-not-great starter increases their odds of winning the WS this year from what, 3% now to 5% post-trade? At what cost to the future when there's a good chance their starting odds are higher then? If you want the O's to make a move, I would think it's because you believe they're knocking on the door right now.

The Tigers can QO him if they keep him and he opts out.  We can’t QO him if we trade for him and he opts out.

More importantly you can't do it with a rental.

It got abused so much.  Trade for a couple guys for the stretch run, hit them with a QO and grab  two first round picks.
