Why do not punch run with Mateo if you are going to insert him into the game anyway? Oh well not like it would have made much of a difference with all of our hitters striking out.

Lineup is turning over.  Mateo will bat ninth instead of in Hicks' spot.

I mind.   He likely will get to bat and we pretty much know how that will turn out.  Plus the only real reason he should even be on the roster is to punch run.  And now that's lost.

I don't know if would have made much of a difference with the Orioles hitters not coming through yet again.

Rangers have a host of southpaws in their 'pen. Hicks switch-hits, has great OBP, and can bunt--we can manufacture a run with him, only need one.

And because we put Frazier in early, we have no infielders available on the bench so we could pinch hit for Mateo
