Bauer interested in O's

Orioles have been a top 5 worst team in sports the last 25 years. We have  a World Series contending team. But people in here won’t want to add Bauer because of his personal life and what the media has told them. Laugh out loud.

I'm not sure the Orioles are one of the two worst teams in sports in the surrounding Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area.

Are you also LOLing at the 29 other GMs who don't want to sign him?

As others have pointed out in the other threads ad nauseam, Bauer wasn't even a top pitcher in a league that is equivalent to AAAA in talent last season. He wasn't even the 2nd best pitcher on his own Japanese team.

And he has confessed he needs sticky stuff.

This idea that he would be great is foolish. Not to mention he'd be a cancer and divisive to the clubhouse.

I will be the first to admit that in years past I was all for giving these type of project or headache players an opportunity in order to flip them for controllable talent. I am now at the point that I believe the orioles have created a winning team and culture and don’t want a distraction. Elias does indeed seem to value character and I agree with that sediment. So, probably the first time in the past 30 years, I agree to pass.

Even ignoring his sexual offenses I think we've seen that Elias values character and having a solid clubhouse so I don't think he'd entertain the idea of Bauer.

He traded for Jack Flaherty

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
