Friday, May 17: Mariners come to town

Man I remember when the Mariners busted these jerseys out in the mid 90s cause they had Griffey Jr and Randy Johnson and they got pretty good suddenly and their previous looks were kinda boring. These were all the rage. 
 

Now they look dated and awful.

It would not be a 9-2 game without Baumann putting two on and walking at least one in the 8th.

They seem to relish in shutting things down, locking things out, etc. to the greatest extent possible to ensure that you have to spend as much time as possible hobbling through a crowd to get to your car after the game.

On the club level they have 2 escalators going down. They shut down the one out by 278 about 5 minutes after the game ends. Why???

And they have way more entrances and exits to the stadium than are ever actually open for people to enter or exit. Why???

Replacing Dempsey’s with Sportsbook is a huge downgrade in menu and food quality. Why???

I have some gripes about the park but it’s still beautiful, and fun to come out to the games. Not sure why they make some of these bad decisions though - it could be even better and even more convenient.

I liked seeing Sig sitting with Elias in the stands. Those guys have an excellent partnership leading this franchise to succeed.

They are awesome.  Starter jackets are also cool these days.

I’ve still got an Orioles starter jacket. I let my oldest daughter have it about a year ago. Remember pitcher wearing them on the basepaths.
