Please remember to not discuss the Orioles selections in this thread, but in their own threads. Each one will have one made as usual. If one was not made, feel free to make one like the previous.
I will try and keep up but may need some help as always.
Thanks for keeping things organized.
The number 1 offensive addition needs to be a RH OF. Kjerstad, Mullins and Cowser all LH. It would be nice if Mayo could play an O’Hearn level OF just to spell guys now and then. Not sure how much they want to put on his plate coming off his offensive issues. Sounds like they are committed to him being a 1B.
If Mayo is on roster you can’t keep both Urias and Mateo unless you move someone.
Bench could be
Backup C?
RH OF ?
Mateo
Mayo/ Urias
Now if they trade someone like Mountcastle or don’t bring back O’Hearn that opens a spot like I said.
Not sure if this has been stated anywhere. But I was confused whether Suarez will be a free agent since he does not have six years of service time. Hyde is quoted in this article saying no idea if Suarez will be back or not. So I assume this means he is in fact a free agent.
I am guessing it would take a Kyle Gibson type of deal and the O's won't go to $10M for a 35 year old who had a great year but wore down on September

It’s false to say payroll will go up because of arb. Depending on who they keep that is under team control, the Os can keep up to 21 players (that make sense to keep) and only have about 82M committed to the payroll. The OD payroll this year was over 90M and almost certainly ended up over 100M.
$8 million is sort of a no brainer for O’Hearn, especially considering he can at least stand out in RF and we probably won’t bring Santa back. Or, we could pick up the $8 million and deal him if offseason moves make him a spare part.
It’s hard to accept, but transitioning to Mayo, Kjerstad, Holliday, and Basallo, is sort of the plan. And the plan everyone wanted. Holliday was a 2nd half everyday player. Basallo will be in the backup C, 1B/DH mix, come mid season. Mayo and Kjerstad need everyday ABs.
As frustrating as it sounds, I don’t think this is the year to take a bulldozer to the team, and instead a rake is needed.
Re-sign Burnes, and let’s see what we have in the young bats that have arrived. The market may be small at the deadline, but that is what it is. Can’t have these guys back in AAA. Gotta sink or swim.
It’s not like they’re marginal prospects. We’re talking about guys that have been top 1, 5, 10 prospects in all of baseball, minus Kjerstad who was the #2 pick in the draft. Time to play them.
No but Angelos should’ve fought the relocation. Between MASN which was temporary and the sale guarantees he caved.
I’ll just say that the TV markets and cap situation make it very different. And they only need to draw 70000 people 8-9 times per year.
Want it to be an even comparison….. Make the tv money total revenue sharing. Then the differences are just gate and memorabilia driven, The Dodgers abd Yankees would still have more …but not 100s of millions more.
We complain but Oakland was a good example of a good baseball town crushed by their limited tv market.
Your not sorry 😂
Doesnt matter … it’s not a level playing field. Spending lavishly doesn’t always work. Just wait and tell me how you feel when Bradish and Gunnar are wearing large market uniforms and the ability to tank has been diminished.
