Last night MASN had a graphic leaning into the COL-CHW games showing the remaining Strength of Schedule for the AL playoffs contenders.

BAL by far the easiest, though I believe much of that is literally these next 6 games.

Yankees see Erick Fedde and Kyle Gibson next couple nights as we start out Colorado.

Royals might have hit a high water mark before that Cleveland rally late yesterday to stave off the Royals sweep bid.    Astros beat Lucas Erceg last night and both Erceg and Pasquantino may have been hurt on a play the pitcher was beelined and Pasquantino needed x-rays after a collision at 1B.

Royals rematch if it occurs could now have more Adam Frazier, as if Adley v. Witt, Hunter Harvey, and Ghosts of 2014 wouldn't be enough drama for 2-3 days.

I believe Witt might belatedly still have a window to get KCR a prospect promotion incentive pick with a good enough MVP placement.

Yup.  Per Tankathon, the O's remaining opponents have a winning percentage of .471, which is 2nd lowest in MLB (after the non-contending Angels).   But after the Rockies and White Sox series are complete, our remaining opponents will have a .519 winning percentage, which probably will be about the 6th/7th hardest remaining schedule in baseball at that point.   Most of that is wrapped up in our closing week against the Yankees (.582) and Twins (.541).  Otherwise it's a bunch of .500ish teams.

That is about what the league is.  2 or 3 really bad teams about 10 slightly below average teams that get hot here and tgere.  10 slightly above teams that get hot  a little more then those,  Then about 6 good teams that had long stretches of hot early and now just average.  It could come down to when you face a team if they are hot and if you miss there ace or have to face them.  If the Tigers keep current rotation pitching on normal rest Skubal pitches game before our series then game in between our next series.  We could miss him both series but could also see in 2 times in a 9 game span.  That might be the difference in division or wild card for us.

3 games up on Kansas City minus Pasquantino with 26 to play for the mini-milestone of securing HFA in a potential ALWC series.

Orioles won that series 4-2 assuming that is first tiebreaker for breaking wildcard ties as well as division races.

So they'd need 17-9 to overtake a BAL 13-13 if the Orioles play .500 against their remaining slate.

We've focused a lot on COL-CHW after the tough stretch, but Brown also had the detail on the pregame tonight is Game 1 of 21 straight against non-playoff teams.

Ben Rice had more than his 15 minutes of fame, but in the end the league held him to a .174 batting average in 175 plate appearances, and today World Series Champion Anthony Rizzo is back to give whatever he has left to give to an October push, including probably some key hit by pitches.
