There is only so much money that will be spent.

A dollar that goes in pile A will not be available for other needs.

It's a simple concept, you have a finite resource you must allocate it in a sensible manner.

Was criticized weeks ago for saying I miss the old Rutschman who works counts and sprays the ball everywhere instead of chasing everything and getting into bad hitters counts.

and yes comical to those who said Santander could get traded months ago and his offensive production would easily be duplicated this season.

It’s most likely Santander’s last year here as will get at least 60-70 mill elsewhere and the O’s have to move Kjertstad to right.

I haven't worn a uniform since I left the military.

It also doesn't matter how big the pile is.  It's still a finite number.  A million spent on Santander is a million not spent elsewhere.  That's true if payroll is 60 million or 260 million.
