Gunnar has the yips. Its in his head now.

A good player in Steve Sax was the first guy I remember having the dreaded yips.  Then Mark Reynolds had the yips in 2012 at third.  He only solved it when they moved him to first.

Steve Sax was lost for very long time.

Now I think Gunnar has the yips.  I think it is in his head now.  Either he beats it down soon or it will get out of control.

We can NOT win with him making a throwing error EVERY game.

It's not just the throws either, he should have easily caught that flare to SS that he mistimed and then the one ball just ate him up after the throwing error. He's not been good at all lately on either side of the ball.

Gunnar does not have the yips. He's trying to make insane plays and just needs to learn when to stick it in his pocket.

This. And honestly he makes those plays sometimes so you take the good with the bad. The second one was only an error because they ruled the ball was lodged in the netting even though it didn't appear to be.

The throwing error in the 9th is the type of play you try to make, you don't eat it.  Up 3, if the runner ends up on 2nd, no big deal with a 3 run lead.  If it is 1 run game, tied, etc in the 9th, put the ball in your pocket.

Gunnar needs to stop making every throw on the run. He needs to plant his feet.

It looks like he's almost avoiding planting his foot and squaring up before he throws.  There's a lot of leaping and throwing while turning.  Maybe his positioning is off.

He made a super heads up play flopping on the base runners interference play.  Smart to go for the fake as he had no chance.

The high hopper he missed he played well.  Tough play and even if he gloves it likely doesn’t get the runner.

The ball lodged in fence was just bad luck.  Shouldn’t have been an error.  And you try and make that play all day with a 3 run lead.

The overthrow was an ill-advised throw, should have put it in his pocket.

The pop up to CF was a brilliant play.

The play early in game throwing “on the roll” was incredible.

All in all, nothing to see.  He’s just turned 23 and figuring up what he can & can’t do.  He’s also figuring out when to go all end or eat it.

To say he has the  “yips” is laughable.

He's pressing.  You can't ignore that most of these throwing errors are on plays that few players in the league even get to the ball.  He's playing aggressive as hell, which has nothing to do with the yips.
