I just don't think Povich has great stuff either. I've heard that mentioned, but I don't see the raw stuff being that great. The lack of command is the more obvious of the two though.

This is why they've stuck by Mateo through some rough hitting stretches. Once they decided Ortiz was expendable, Mateo was the only thing standing between a Gunnar injury/rest day and the abyss at shortstop.
